Talbots commercial

Featured here: Talbots scoop neck three-quarter sleeve in a medium petite.

Inspired by the 80's.
Fred's still on the road to recovery. Ups and downs along the way, but we're hoping for a short golf cart ride tomorrow.

UGGGGGG. Don't tell anyone about being on the sofa

At least there is a comfortable place in this house.

Surgery went fine, a long incision down Fred's right shoulder. And this time we don't have to go the route of the barbaric cone. A Talbots Petite tagless t-shirt fills the bill just fine--- just in case someone gets the urge to fuss with the incision. Note the Flashdance detail.
Results on the biopsy are due next week, so let's keep fingers and paws (Ralph, my pal) crossed.

Oh no. Not Again.

Well, Fred is returning to surgery tomorrow. His Mast Cell Cancer has returned on his right front leg.

I am so aggravated with myself. When will I learn to listen to my instincts??? I found this growth in January and took him to the vet. He said it was most definitely a skin tag (in spite of the history of cancer). When it changed in size and behavior, I made an appointment with the oncologist. By the time the appointment rolled around, it was almost nothing. Such is the nature of Mast Cell, but I cancelled that appointment. This time when the growth flared, I just knew it. Fortunately, the oncologist here is very good-- I called Friday afternoon and Fred was in on Monday morning. She took a sample of the growth and did blood work, and surgery will be tomorrow in Tampa.

Branching

Baby has been contemplating this branch for about a week now. Mom spent a day sitting on it last week.

Eaglet is probably about 10 weeks old right now, and will do some hopping, flapping and branching until about 11 weeks.

Then it will be time to learn to fly for real.

Practicing the grown up eagle face

 SUCCESSFUL BRANCHING!!!!!

Kinda scary though. Eaglet needs to shimmy back to the nest.

Mom! Did you see that???

Preparing for Independence Part 2, March 20

This too, was new. Mom was posted on a branch jutting out of the nest.

Baby was practicing with its wings. Mom never took her eyes off of the eaglet

Looks like she's critiquing baby's moves

Wit a little bit of "What hath I wrought?" thrown in.

 Lookin' pretty satisfied

Oops, baby  has some fluff in its beak.

 Watching the world go by.......

 Mom gives a lesson

Preparing for Independence Part 1

Things were different on the nest this week. Mom was more attentive than usual

Baby was practicing its moves- mom looks a bit weary

This was unusual. Baby has been eating on its own for weeks now. So why the change?

Mom is showing baby how we jump onto the branch. Baby looks pretty scared..

Where do you think eaglet got its beak??? I think I see a family resemblance.

 More togetherness in the nest

Sharing some fish goo.... part 2 follows.

Proud Parents

It's not often that all three eagles are in the nest at the same time, so I was thrilled to see this!

Baby seems to have already gotten bigger than its parents. Look at how proud they are.

Mom does a fly-by to make sure all is well. The osprey have been heckling the  eagles.  This nest originally belonged to the osprey and they are NOT getting over it.

A little more flying practice.

Excitement! Lunchtime!!!!!

Mom comes in for a landing with LUNCH!

Baby is so excited, he can hardly contain himself...

In Fact, he whacks Mom in the  face with his wing. Look at her scooting back, feet outstretched

Mom puts the food on the very edge of  the nest.

Baby has to balance on the edge of the nest if he wants to eat.

 YUMMMMMMMM

Mom heads to a nearby tree to give baby some room

Next, baby discovers a new world out there.
