Well, here is a very displeased Fred.
We picked him up this morning after his ruptured ACL was treated with the TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) surgery which involved correcting the slope of the tibial plateau, attaching a plate with six, yes 6!, screws, and cleaning up the meniscus. The vet said that he did very well, and was the best patient ever! A very unique dog. he said.

Fred probably hopes he never sees that pace again, but no such luck-- we have to go in for a follow up in 10 days.

We need to keep him from slipping on the tile floors, or going up or down the stairs, so here is our new decorating scheme. We bought a couple of rugs at Wal Mart and gathered up every rug and mat in the house. the chairs are blocking the stairs.
A bit embarrassing, this get-up.... we bought an alternative to the usual cone--this is called an air collar, and so far I would say that the air collar is way, way better than the cone! None of the blind crashing into walls, doors and furniture. You can see the pitiful shaved leg and stitches along the knee. Perfect for Halloween!

A nice pillow, and an elevated leg.. the best we can do for now.
Glad to see you're on the mend Freddy, hope you're up and around soon!!
ReplyDeleteOMG I can't stand it Fred...I am crying. I am glad we worked up to the photo of the stitched "knee". I am also glad it is not a very clear/graphic pic. Did you pick out your PT yet? Get a hot young chick. It'll help ease the pain. I feel ya babe....Aunt Connie will come if you need her....xoxox
ReplyDeleteFreddy -- Your decorating scheme is lovely. Just try not to turn everything into a magic carpet.
