First things first. |
The roof was made of cans, pounded flat. |
Nice view....there were 4 saloons in this town. |
Every kind of machine possible, still here, just waiting for the next Gold Rush. |
The Dredge, and all that it did to the landscape.
Nice digs |
Fred's dad used to find these in California as a boy. |
Cool shot! |
Glad to see you are getting the chance to do a little exploring yourself. Fascinating images! Thanks for sharing. It looked like Fred had fun exploring too.
ReplyDeleteFascinating! Literally an abandoned town? As in, time to amscray, let's leave the equipment behind? Amazing. And the stuff that Mick's Dad would find? Ceramic glasses? Does anyone own this property? And are the gravestones/woods for real?
ReplyDeleteYes, no one lives here anymore, although there is an active mining town down the road! I think it's owned by the state or feds..
ReplyDeleteI met a guy at the Ranger Station, who turned out to be distantly related, whose Dad helped re-put together some of that machinery!
the ceramic glasses were used for melting the stuff they found (I guess)...some of the gravestones looked new, some were original.
I hope to avoid death by "Over Drunk", snowslide, or suicide.
Definition of "Over Drunk": when you're so drunk it kills ya, I guess.
ReplyDeleteSOME of us need to watch that....
