Total Distance, 7 1/2 miles, Elevation Gain, 2,400 ft

Fred's dad's annual trip to Pioneer Cabin. No one lives here, and anyone can use it.

It's been a bit hazy...fires in the Challis area

Still hasn't learned to use a mirror to put the sunscreen on

Love this picture. It might be the first one I tackle with my new Photoshop!

God's country!

Nap Time, interrupted

If you heard the racket that goes on around here all night, what with the bugling, charging, yipping, and tearing trees down, you would understand the need for a nap in the late afternoon.
This is what we came home to yesterday
The 2 on the right are a bit put out to have their nap interrupted... by the looks of them, they need their rest

YAAAAAAAWWWNNNNNNNN

The one on the left is gettin all purty for tonite

Is this my good side?

Or this?

Dog Day Dusty Afternoon

It's a dusty trail, this one. Lots of mountain bikers kick up the dust. But at least one of those crazy bikers didn't run over Fred's tail. This actually happened at our fave trail. They are CRAZY!

A lab's dream come true. Standing in a stream, chewin' on a stick.

Trudging along

Heaven

Nice View

Nice stick....almost fell of the ledge here, while taking a good scratch.
Someone is getting a bit accident prone.

Could you get any dustier? This is right after almost falling down the cliff.

Damn bikers. Gonna keep our eyes open, and tails protected from now on.

Pretty tiring

But worth it in the end! (except for the tail part)

Holy Bat Trap!

Don't know if I've mentioned this, but the house we are staying in was  owned by Adam West AKA Bruce Wayne AKA BATMAN

So, I turned on the TV last night, and what is on, BAM! POW! KLOK!

But Batman,

And, of course, everyone's idol. CATWOMAN!

Best saying, ever.

The greatest.
Did it ever occur to me 45 years ago as I watched Batman on our B&W TV, that I would someday be watching this same show from the actual Bat Lair?????

Redfish Lake

This is one of those hikes which Freddy respectfully declines to attend. Once he sees the big backpack come out, he does not leave the front porch. So, Fred's dad was on his own.

Funny, this place is so beautiful, but there is something about it that scares the Holy Crap out of me, every time I go....
If you look closely you can see a butterfly on Fred's dad's leg!
