On the Road Without Freddy

It seems oh, so wrong, but yes, we were forced to Road Trip without Freddy.
Don't worry, Freddy Fanns, I did have a babysitter come in so he would not be too lonely!

I love going to central Illinois, whatever the season. So many memories of my childhood, visiting family.

I love the landscape,

I love the corn,

I love the beans,
I love the lawn ornaments,

not my father's house, and not the best example of lawn ornaments out there, believe me!

I love the grasshoppers and beetles that buzz, I love the County Fairs, I love the smells of mown grasses of every kind.

My father was in fine form, having spent the previous evening deer hunting, and to top it off, the hunting group also serendipitously  (for them, NOT the deer) was given a deer that had been hit by a car that evening.
He still was wearing his special Deer Hunting cap when we arrived

I went into the back/front /side yard to enjoy:

a little garbage pickin never hurt a soul
while Jamie and Grandpa went to check on the progress of  the deer hunters

Golf Carts seem to be a recurring theme in our lives....
And of course, you can't have men without a little  Roto-Rootering

which involves every kind of standing around and thinking

Hey, what's that water bottle doing in there?????

All in all, a lovely time was had by all.

BUT, here is the bad part about being on the road:

EWWWWWWW

Too boring for words.

Dorothy, Toto, Glinda and the Munchkins in Macon

Hellloooo Macon, GA

Well, we overshot Perry to use a free night that I have earned at the Holiday Inn group-
This is a Candlewood Suites-- first time I've stayed at one of these, and you cannot believe what they can fit in just one hotel room:

Fred has already made himself at home)
Someone sure knows how to fit a whole heck of a lot in a little bit of space!
You can see my Mc Donalds Southwest salad. It had a sticker on it that says "Use this first." Yes, it tastes like it has been around the block a couple of times...
But my single servings never fail me.

Bye Bye Boca

OK, we're off this morning...gonna drop Mary off at TPA, and we're shooting for beautiful Perry, GA.
We have a brand new dog ramp, so that there is less likelihood of injuring the knee, plate, and 6 screws.
Here we go!!!!!

Freddy continues to have NO fun, but I do

Her is the high point of Freddy's day-- cocktails with  the girls

Well, all he really gets to do is sit around and think of better days.
I, on the other hand, get to continue gallivanting around the Island.
My favorite place? The Temptation!

Pre-dinner cocktails at the bar.....Cosmo and Mojito

Table in the main dining room

This is not your Gallo Single Serving....

well served..........

Duncan is our favorite!
Don't forget the cigs!!

When was the last time you saw a cigarette machine?

Be careful when you leave!
