A Pair of Eagles, A Nest, and A Mystery

Our Eagle pair has been spotted near the nest since September, with increasing sightings during the last month. We've also been seeing the Ospreys, once on the nest and most recently gazing longingly into the nest from above and afar

But last night my fellow Eagle watcher and I decided to wait it out. At about 5 in sailed Daddy Eagle,  WITH nesting material. I totally missed  the most magnificent shot ever, but my friend did not-- (see last photo)

Mom  (in back) and Dad met in the nest

There didn't seem to be any baby feeding going on,

and the Ospreys were noticeably absent

The photo below is purposely overexposed, because it shows a ball of feathers. But, what is it??? It was not a moving baby that we could see...

Mom hopped off the nest to take in the lovely view

It was a nice peaceful, evening....

Now, for a professional quality photo by my Eagle watching friend, Pat:
