Almost out of single servings...

I was absolutely enchanted the first night I saw this spread!
Staying on the concierge floor at  the Marriott, you are entitled to a light buffet at dinner time for free!!!! Well, not really free-- you do pay for it in your room tariff .....
Oh boy, let me tell you. This gets really old after a few nights. The entire  Club Floor swoops down upon the feast at 5 sharp.
20 senior-type people jostling  each other to get at the chicken salad first. Then, the wait for replenishment begins.
The wine costs $5.95 each glass. Next time I'm going back to the Doubletree where they have "free" wine.

I have been outside exactly once since Sunday afternoon. It was to look for Gallo single servings.
They don't sell single servings here in Rochester. As far as I can tell this is a beer kind of town. There is just one place that sells wine here. Got me a nice Pinot Grigio screw top.
Can't wait to get back to civilization and good old Jewel Osco. Over by dere.

Things could be worse

HA! Just when I think Freddy is the biggest stinker in the Western Suburbs, Tico, the granddog comes along!!!!!!
Jamie and  Diana adopted Tico several months ago to keep the little princess Chuchi company.

Princess CHUCHI

TICO (Look at that tongue!!)

The big dogs, Sonny, Tico and Fred, love playing together.

Well, Tico is, at 10 months, a bit of a handful. Sweetest thing in the world when someone is home, but leave him alone, uncrated, and the gloves come off.......
Jamie and Diana decided that just maybe, he could be uncrated for a few hours the other day.
Here is what happened:

Tico pulled a monster chair across the room, and proceeded to eat the upholstery down to the frame.

He also thought the windowsill looked pretty yummy:

Suddenly Fred's chewed up wall doesn't look so bad!

On the Road Without Freddy, Again

Poor Fred.
I'm doin' the town in beautiful Rochester

where you never actually have to step outside. (See the skywalks--view from the room).

Hopefully Freddy is enjoying his new DELUXE dog bed from Orvis.....mighty nice

although I can't say he looks terribly happy.

Bad day in Freddyville; and it's only 8AM

WE woke up to the unusual sound of children laughing and squealing this morning.
What is going on?????  we thought...

Why, it's the first snow of the year!!!! Beautiful!

Suddenly............oh no! We hear the garage door open. THIS cannot be a good thing. Dad crunched his car over at McDonalds (somehow he did manage to get his large coffee in spite of this).

Fred got out while we were examining the car. Here was his first opportunity to do the dreaded PUPPY ZOOM!!!!!!!!
OH, Holy Cats! This was how he injured himself in the first place!

Being the owner of a supremely well trained dog, I started yelling TREAT TREAT TREAT TREAT

Well, this got his attention so he ZOOOMED over to me, but I had not noticed that there was ice on the ground.   Oh Gadzooks, he slipped and splat.

These are all the things that the vet had expressly warned against. OHHHHHHH, BAD dog owner.

UNHAPPY DOG

WITH A SORE LEG, MAYBE TWO.

Stay tuned

OH, THE INJUSTICE!!! CODY THE CANINE CONVENIENCE STORE CLERK HAS BEEN FIRED!

CODY THE CHOCOLATE LAB

Well, this really stinks.
Big Mistake.
Karim Mansour, the owner of a BP gas station and convenience store in Clearwater, FL allowed  a local reporter to do a story on Cody, the lab who works here.
Cody wears a BP shirt, and even has his own name tag.

"While he's here, he's an employee. My rule is, 'all employees need to wear the shirt,' " Mansour said.

The Florida Department of Agriculture in its infinite wisdom must have actually read the story. They say that Cody is a source of food contamination. All the food sold here is packaged or bottled, but for now, Cody has to stay at home.

"There's no way one of my dog's hairs are going to get into a bag of Doritos," Mansour said. "I don't know what I'm going to do without him. It's going to be boring here, and people are going to be looking for him."

It certainly seems that the government (I know this is a different department) should be dealing with what is happening to the food before it reaches the public .
 Chicago school lunches, anyone???

Speaking of Days Gone By....

Those other dogs who lived here, Fluffy the perfect, and Tucker the loudmouth.....they had it soooo much better, and it is just not fair.

Everyone thought Fluffy was Mr. Perfect:

They got to have fun at Halloween. I spent Halloween with an inner Tube around my head.

Fluffy was an angel, and Tucker was a devil, of course.

They got to have fun with kids their own age (mostly Tucker)

Tucker seems to have had knees that worked:

And best of all, they always had someone to play with:
